Industrial Noise Control

Wakefield Acoustics are industrial noise control specialists with over 40 years of experience in providing noise control solutions. Our bespoke industrial noise control services are used across a range of sectors and industries.

Industrial Noise Assessment

Assessing and measuring noise in industrial settings can be challenging due to the wide range of equipment and processes typically found in manufacturing facilities.

A comprehensive noise assessment often involves a full site audit to identify and rank noise sources based on their emission levels. This enables the development of a targeted noise control action plan tailored to the facility’s specific needs.

Under the Control of Noise at Work Regulations, employers are legally required to assess and manage workplace noise to protect the health and safety of their employees. Given the high noise output from many industrial machines and processes, effective noise control strategies are essential to reduce exposure and maintain compliance.

What can be done to reduce an industrial noise hazard in a workplace?

We recommend booking an acoustic consultant to carry out a noise assessment of the building and surrounding premises. From this assessment the acoustic consultant will use all his knowledge and expertise to provide key solutions to reduce industrial noise in any area where its required.

Is a noise assessment a legal requirement?

Yes, a noise assessment is a legal requirement. The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 require employers to assess noise levels if employees are likely to be exposed to noise at or above exposure of 80 decibels daily or weekly and 135 decibel peak sound pressure.

How do you soundproof an industrial building?

Its very difficult to soundproof an industrial building entirely but there are acoustic solutions to reduce noise levels and meet acoustic requirements across the building.

What information should I provide when requesting a consultation of industrial noise control?

The information we recommended you provide our acoustic engineers and consultants is the description of your facility and operations, specific noise concerns, current noise related challenges in problem areas, maintenance requirements, timeline expectations and any previous noise assessments.
